BREAKING: Former MLA Paul Hinman takes reins of Wildrose Independence Party
Political heavyweight Paul Hinman has just been announced as the new leader of the Wildrose Independence Party in the fight against federalism in Alberta.
Hinman, the former leader of the Wildrose Party and a strong advocate for recall legislation is slated to make his inaugural speech as Leader of the WIP at the Firewall Plus roundtable discussion on Friday.
This WIP will contest the 31st Alberta general election in 2023 with a platform directed at removing Alberta from the list Canadian provinces and organizing a sovereign Alberta.
A chief concern to many Albertans will be the dreaded “vote split” caused by having two popular right-wing parties on the ballot.
This first-past-the-post phenomenon is largely considered the reason the ill-fit socialist Rachel Notley was able to snatch Alberta’s strings of power in 2015.
