Gorgeous new Toronto yoga studio faces BANKRUPTCY due to Ford govt's inconsistent lockdowns

TRIBESpace Yoga in Toronto may very well be the nicest yoga studio in the city.

The studio, which officially opened earlier this year, is a labour of love for its owner, Jordana Ricketts. Like many small business owners, she invested her entire life savings into her dream.

Jordana, a former real estate agent, was looking forward to finally having a career doing something that she loves: keeping herself and her community healthy and zen.

Alas, thanks to the province throwing Toronto back into a Stage 2 lockdown, Jordana is but a few weeks away from insolvency.

For whatever reason, the powers-that-be who are advising Premier Doug Ford feel that a yoga studio is simply too dangerous to remain open during our supposed pandemic crisis.

Thus, TRIBESpace Yoga is shuttered now, and to add insult to injury — due to a technicality, it does not qualify for any government assistance that might help it survive the winter.

Meanwhile, big box stores and supermarkets remain open in Toronto... guess that Wuhan virus has an intense dislike for yoga practitioners, but turns a blind eye to shoppers packing the aisles at Walmart and Costco?

We visited Jordana recently and heard her heartbreaking story as she struggles to stay afloat. If you're interested in helping her out, you can visit her GoFundMe page to make a donation.

Come on, Premier Ford! You said in 2018 that you were, “For the People.” What about THIS person? You said Ontario was “Open for Business.” What about THIS Business? Do the right thing, premier — end this nonsensical lockdown now!
