Governments across the world have started to roll out digital ID policies.

These policies call for the invasive collection of biometric markers, location data, banking information, and vaccination records.

In Canada, the federal government, two of the busiest airports, and the largest airline have partnered alongside the World Economic Forum for the Known Traveller Digital Identity project.

In the U.S., Rep. Bill Foster (D-Il.) introduced the Improving Digital Identity Act, which calls for the development of a massive digital biometric ID infrastructure.

The West, once known for its commitment to freedom and civil liberties, is not far from introducing official, restrictive, and intrusive Chinese Communist-style social credit systems.

Though a digital ID sounds convenient, digitization will surely have dire consequences for our lives as governments assert more power over us.
