The panhandling scam Canadians keep falling for
One Mississauga panhandler appears to have a routine: beg for money, then drive away.
When you see someone begging for money, you probably wouldn’t expect them to drive from location to location doing it. But that’s exactly what’s happening across Canada.
At the 403 highway and Erin Mills Parkway exit, this individual was walking up and down the roadway, waving at cars passing by, in the hopes of receiving money.
Across the street is a massive parking lot. After panhandling, he walked over to the lot. When confronted, he immediately hid his face and ran into the bushes in an apparent attempt to conceal his identity.
Once he thought the coast was clear, he walked over to his car and drove away.
While countless Canadians are struggling to get by, individuals pretending to be homeless are taking money from unsuspecting people.

I investigated two women in Mississauga who were begging for money and claimed to be from Eastern Europe.
At the end of their “shift,” they were picked up in an alleyway by a man with a van. The next morning, they were dropped off at the same spot. pic.twitter.com/rTXBTtr97y
You may have seen them at busy intersections. You may have even given them money. But before you reach into your wallet, you might want to think twice.
