Twitter hackers' Bitcoin scam reveals hidden social media blacklist
On the latest episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Breitbart's senior technology correspondent Allum Bokhari joined me to discuss last week's massive Twitter hack targeting numerous major users including accounts run by Barack Obama and Elon Musk.
After the hack, Allum reported in Breitbart on the existence of hidden blacklists exposed by the hackers:
Twitter has “search blacklist” and “trends blacklist” tags on accounts, according to a purported image of an internal tool used by employees to moderate users, released via the blockbuster hack of prominent individuals yesterday.
While the hackers seemed to focus on scamming people out of their Bitcoin, they could've caused even more damage.
In this clip, we discuss the blacklists and whether Twitter's current practices are an international security risk.
