Big news!

With your help, our reporters have been accredited at the Alberta Legislative Press Gallery!

On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant ShowSheila Gunn Reid and Keean Bexte called in live from Alberta to talk about their first day on the job.

In this clip, Ezra Levant gives a quick rundown on our application and rejection by a Postmedia wonk.

Here's what Sheila had to say:

“The city [of Edmonton] is a little more free because we are officially back in that building behind us!

“We had a meeting with the Sergeant-at-Arms today, who said that he would grant us some form of media access, the same access to work inside the building as the other journalists who do work here. Despite Postmedia's attempt to censor us.”

But, Rebel News will be headquartered in isolation from the other journalists. Keean explains that he and Sheila will be“separate from the press gallery, but equal":

“They're working on getting us certain office space. What they're doing here is converting the Press Gallery, they're kneecapping it basically — and stopping their official monopoly on the space, which they've had for decades.

Now, the rules for accrediting journalists are completely different. You don't have to be a member of the Press Gallery. We are going directly to the source, the people who are the tenants of this building, tenants of... the Speaker of the House. [Through] the Sergeant-at-Arms [the Speaker] given us these press passes.
