63 dead Canadians in Iranian plane crash: “These things sometimes happen”, says former ambassador Dennis Horak
Former ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dennis Horak shrugged off the deaths of 63 Canadians aboard the Ukraine International Airlines aircraft that crash earlier this week minutes after takeoff from Tehran by saying “These things sometimes happen.”

Horak previously worked as a diplomat in Iran and once indicated that the risk for Canadians was low one year before the Harper government shut down the embassy in Tehran over safety concerns.
