Antifa CHARGED by Kingston police for assaulting David Menzies
Kingston police have charged a 30-year-old man with assault after attacking David Menzies on June 20 at an Antifa rally protesting the legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald.
While covering the protest, both David and our cameraman were confronted by activists. The man identified and charged by police poured liquid on both David and our cameraman before physically pushing David. You can read and watch our full story from the event here.
The police investigation was reported in the Kingston Whig-Standard:
On June 26, police released photos and a description of the man to the public, leading to numerous tips. Investigating further, police were able to confirm the man’s identity.
Police contacted the man on Friday and he turned himself in late the next morning.
The man was charged with assault with a weapon and mischief/obstruct property, under $5,000. He was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
