Are Trudeau's Liberals trying to censor free speech on the internet? Andrew Lawton joins Ezra Levant

Joining Ezra on yesterday's episode of The Ezra Levant Show was True North's very own Andrew Lawton. Andrew joined Ezra to discuss recent comments made by Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guilbeault regarding his desire to seemingly censor free speech on the internet.

The comments follow a trend from the minister, who as Andrew explained, said something along these lines before the COVID-19 pandemic took total control of the news cycle:

This comes less than half-a-year, I think, after [Guilbeault] walked back a comment he had made in an interview where he was talking about how he would seek to force social media companies to have a license, or digital publishers to be licensed.

This got a lot of people in the media to be quite critical because it sounded like, from how he worded it, he could be going after the media.

But then once he had said 'oh no, no, no, we're not actually talking about the media,' the mainstream media stopped covering the story and they stopped asking any further questions about who would be licensed to have the right to free speech in Steven Guilbeault's ideal world.
