Canada's airport Coronavirus check-up: Self isolation honour system in full force for international arrivals

Justin Trudeau has announced that the Quarantine Act will be invoked starting tonight, Wednesday March 25th. Starting on Thursday, travellers returning to Canada from abroad will be mandated to isolate at home for a period of 14 days. Many Canadians are wondering why this measure is only being taken now, well into the global pandemic.

At the four airports chosen by Ottawa to accept international flights, there's still no temperature screening upon arrival or departure, putting at risk all Canadians aboard of the planes.

This comes at a time when provincial governments are picking up the slack from the federal Liberals. For example, Jason Kenny's government just announced that fines will be levied against large gatherings and Albertans not abiding by the self-isolation orders.
