Today, we're looking at the fallout after it was revealed that a senior executive at CBC responsible for “Journalistic Standards and Public Trust” ordered journalists not to refer to the 9/11 attacks as "terrorist attacks." An internal memo reportedly instructed journalists to refer to the attacks as “hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes.”

Former Toronto police officer Ross McLean weighs in on the controversy surrounding the Dominion Society of Canada's DomCon conference in Hamilton. Hamilton Police publicly asked anyone with information about the group's venue booking to contact police and said they were encouraging local venues to consider the impact of hosting the event. McLean joins David and Drea to discuss whether police are crossing the line from public safety into political policing — and what he sees as a troubling rise in "two-tier policing" in Canada.

Plus, the BC Conservatives are facing significant internal disruptions and an unprecedented mass exodus of legislators under new leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay.  Just three months after Findlay won the leadership race in late May 2026, the party has lost six MLAs from its caucus in a matter of weeks, shrinking their numbers significantly down to around 32 seats (with roughly 10 former members now sitting as Independents).

And finally, Canada's trade war with the U.S. continues to heat up after President Trump responded to jabs from Doug Ford by officially renaming Lake Ontario as "Lake America." U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also accused the Carney Liberals of sabotaging trade talks by making last minute demands while speaking to reporters Thursday.
