David takes a rapid test for COVID-19 — but it's not available in Canada. Why?

Just the other day, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked a question about why it’s taking so long for Canadians to get tested for the Chinese coronavirus. In a nutshell, he said the powers-that-be need to do better.

You think?

Oh, we need to do better all right.

So how about this? International businessman Nathan Jacobson has a distribution agreement with a factory that makes self-testing kits for the specific COVID-19 virus from Wuhan. This test has proven accurate on some 150 million people; it takes a fraction of the amount of time the traditional test takes; and this test also costs a fraction of the amount of money that the traditional test costs.

So, what's the downside?

After all, it has even been approved for sale by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Alas, Health Canada hasn’t approved the test kit — and hopefully that will change in the days and weeks ahead (or are we in for an extended session of paralysis by analysis as lives hang in the balance?)

By the way, I offered myself up as a guinea pig to try out the test myself!
