International students, Temporary Foreign Workers eligible for Trudeau's coronavirus bailout money

The Canadian emergency response benefit is part of the Canadian government's massive relief package to taxpayers in the midst of the global pandemic.

Unfortunately for those same taxpayers, Trudeau has snuck non-Canadians onto the list of who qualifies for that lucrative $8,000 per person bail out.

International students, most of whom come from China, are among those eligible. So are temporary foreign workers.

Many might ask: If temporary foreign workers have lost their jobs in Canada during the #coronavirus pandemic, then why they are still here, much less receiving government cash? Your guess is as good as mine.

The requirements to collect this cash are startlingly flexible. To collect the $8,000, you need only to have received an income of $5,000 in 2019.

That money doesn't even have to have been made within the confines of the Canadian economy, either.

For example, an international student from Beijing could have been collecting a monthly stipend from their parent's company. They only need to do some quick accounting and boom, they just won a small lottery.

Thanks Trudeau.
