Keystone XL construction is now underway as heavy equipment rolled into Oyen, Alberta this week. Construction of the work camp had the small town buzzing with activity — great news for hard hit rural Alberta.

Following a $1.5 billion investment from the Alberta government, the pipeline will provide over 1,400 direct jobs and about triple that in indirect jobs.

Approval of the US bound pipeline sat on former President Barack Obama's desk for years after it was finally approved by President Trump. Trump's 2020 adversary, Joe Biden, has vowed to cancel the massive project.
