“Persian Cat” or Liberal rat? Carleton PC candidate is a Harper-hating SJW
EDITOR'S NOTE: In November, 2023, Ghamari responded to this article on social media claiming that she stopped posting with the username ‘Persian Cat” a decade ago, suggesting that some of the anonymous posts reported in the story would have been posted by someone else, and called this report "garbage".
The infiltration of non-conservatives into the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario continues unabated. It’s hard to come to a different conclusion after reviewing the curious case of Goldie Ghamari, PC candidate for the new riding of Carleton.
Her resume and some of her own statements would suggest she’s anything but a conservative, as for example publicly stating on numerous occasions that she’s a Liberal supporter and even a “social justice” advocate.
Yet somehow she’s the candidate of choice in Carleton?
Watch as I lay out some of the ominous facts about Ghamari regarding her “conservative” credentials.
The PC Party repeatedly states it’s committed to a fair and unbiased nomination process.
However, astute observers of these meetings over the last several months are aware of fiascos and accusations of fraudulent activity.
The fact that Ghamari used to swing left of centre or perhaps still does is indisputable based on her resume and public pronouncements and that doesn’t even include another downright disturbing side to Ghamari.
Until recently, Ghamari apparently operated in social media circles under the alias of "The Persian Cat" – and while most of the posts have been deleted, the Internet is forever and screen grabs prove that Ghamari and The Persian Cat are one and the same.
I reached out to get her take and to confirm if this was her alias but after repeated requests, she neither confirmed nor denied and provided this cryptic response, verbatim:
“I have ignored, and will continue to ignore, these vile, defamatory, sexist, and unbelievably racist false allegations that were brought to my attention last year. They are beyond the pale and not worth a moment of my time.”
And what of the PC Party? I repeatedly reached out to Executive Director Bob Stanley to ask if the party is aware of Ghamari’s background and if so, why she’s still the party’s candidate of choice.
None of my phone calls or emails have been returned.
Conservatives I’ve spoken to contend that Carleton is a winnable riding for the PCs with the right candidate, but Ghamari is the wrong candidate, even in light of the plunging popularity of the Liberals and Premier Kathleen Wynne.
But then again, given the results of the last three provincial elections, the unofficial slogan of the PC party seems to be “Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.”
We’re left to wonder if the losing streak will continue next year especially when the party inexplicably goes to bat for such a questionable candidate.
In the meantime, Ms Ghamari has some explaining to do if she wants to show that our whistleblowers got this Persian Cat thing wrong because it seems the people of Carleton smell a big Persian RAT right now.
