Sunday, June 9 was Toronto’s annual “Walk with Israel”, where 50,000 Jews and their allies marched in solidarity with the Jewish state.
But at least a hundred masked, angry Hamas supporters showed up, too, shouting obscenities at the Jewish families.
I was there with a large Rebel News team, including our reporters David Menzies and Sarah Stock. Here, take a look at how it went.
The march was clearly a big news story — anytime 50,000 people gather for a political statement, it’s news. But, bizarrely, the CBC refused to send a reporter, as the the Globe and Mail, and the Toronto Star.
Why did they all boycott the event? For that matter, why did Justin Trudeau and Olivia Chow, the mayor, boycott it, too?
The media bias against Israel and in favour of Hamas hasn’t gone unnoticed. Our Rebel News staff were constantly met with warm greetings from the public.
People are waking up to the fact that the mainstream media just doesn’t report honestly or accurately — if it weren’t for independent journalists like Rebel News, we’d miss a lot of important things.
If you value our independent journalism, please take a moment to chip in. Of course, we don't take a dollar from the Trudeau government in media bail-outs. That’s precisely why we can tell the other side of the story — unlike the CBC, we’re not in Trudeau’s pocket.
We often have to hire security guards, and even lawyers to cover this story. If you can help us cover our costs, do so. (Thanks!)
