Brazil. It’s South America’s largest country with more than 200 million people. Until the 1980s it was a military dictatorship.
Since then it’s been a fragile democracy.
But it is becoming a dictatorship again?
Brazil’s president, Lula, is an ally of Iran, China and Cuba. And he’s bringing in censorship policies just like they have. His ally is a crusading judge named Alexandre de Moraes, whose specialty is censoring Lula’s political opponents in secret trials. But now they’re censoring everyone — banning the entire social media app, Twitter, and seizing assets belonging to Elon Musk’s other companies, too.
Do the Brazilian people really want to go back to dictatorship? Or will they stand up for freedom and preserve their democracy?
Rebel News will be on the ground in Sao Paulo for a massive demonstration this Saturday, September 7th, the Brazilian independence day. We’ll ask the Brazilian people what they really think or Lula, Moraes, Elon Musk — and freedom.
