Help us fund Alexa's mission to France — and keep her safe!
Rebel News is sending Alexa Lavoie and her videographer, Guillaume Roy, to France on Saturday, October 24, the day the mob says it is coming back to the streets for what it calls "Act Two." We are asking you to help us pay for it.
What happened on October 17
Town halls were stormed and set on fire. Limoges lost its 19th-century city hall. Cars burned, tourist offices went up in flames, and about 3,000 shops and businesses were vandalized or looted. In one afternoon, families watched a lifetime of work smashed to pieces. Almost 1,000 police officers and gendarmes were injured in a single weekend, and more than 2,500 people were arrested. France's own interior minister admitted the police had lost control and offered his resignation. A synagogue in Paris was ransacked, and Jewish-owned shops in Marseille were burned.
Teenagers didn't burn down a city hall
The mainstream media still calls it a student movement. Yes, it started in the high schools, over overcrowded classrooms. But teenagers didn't burn down the Limoges city hall. The prime minister's own office cited intelligence calling this an operation by La France Insoumise, the far-left party, and its proxies. An LFI mayor near Paris says "violence can be legitimate," and he still stands by it. Alexa calls it the Red-Green Alliance, the radical left and the Islamists, the same coalition Rebel News has filmed in the streets of Montreal and London. Somebody has to go and ask the people on those streets what is going on, in their own language. That is Alexa's job.
The plan for Saturday
Alexa and Guillaume will be in the streets from the first march to the last tear-gas canister. They will show you the police and what they are up against. They will talk to the shop owners sweeping up glass and boarding up their windows, and to the French people who just want their country back. And if the rioters dare, Alexa will put the camera on them and ask what exactly they are fighting for.
What it costs
A last-minute trip isn't cheap. Two flights to Paris, about $3,000. A modest hotel for a few nights, close to $1,000. That's before food and cabs. And a security detail. Last November, Guillaume was attacked by a masked Antifa thug at a Montreal protest and needed four stitches, and the threats against the team did not stop there. We are not sending them into a riot in a foreign city without someone watching their backs. All in, the trip will cost at least $5,000.
Unlike the mainstream media, Rebel News doesn't take a dime from the government or from unscrupulous Big Tech or Big Pharma advertisers. We rely entirely on crowdfunding to sustain our independent journalism. Will you chip in $100, $50 or even just $20 to support our mission to tell the other side of the story?
Every dollar goes to the hard costs of this trip: the flights, the hotel, the videographer and the security. The reports will be posted at FranceOnFire.com as Alexa files them.
