Rebel News Founder and CEO Ezra Levant was arrested on Sunday, November 24 for reporting on the ongoing pro-Hamas demonstration at the intersection of Bathurst and Sheppard in the predominantly Jewish neighbourhood of North Toronto.
He was arrested while standing on the sidewalk, holding a camera, trying to film an effigy of Hamas terrorist Yahya Sinwar that was erected by the pro-Hamas demonstrators, and speaking with a police officer who was telling Ezra he couldn't film that.
This is in Toronto, in the heart of the Jewish community.

Hamas supporters recreate the death of their leader, Yahya Sinwar. It's the equivalent of wearing a KKK hood and burning a cross on the lawn of a Black church.
Police are there, protecting the Hamas supporters. https://t.co/nw6oQ9XQGR
Ezra was not causing a disturbance, but the police officer stated that Ezra’s mere presence was a breach of the peace.
Checkout what happened from Ezra's actual cell phone camera:
Rebel News also filmed the entire interaction:
If you haven’t already, please watch the video above of Ezra’s arrest, and listen to the conversation between Ezra and both police officers.
We have already hired a lawyer, Leora Shemesh, who will work to release Ezra and defend him against any charges. Please donate here now to help us pay for Ezra's legal defence! We are also going to sue the Toronto police to protect journalists' charter rights. This will be a big legal fight, and we need your support to afford to do it. (Thanks!)
