“It’s time to get back to work:” Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson at the Vancouver Freedom Rally 2020

The largest protest for freedom and against COVID-19 Restrictions, to take place in Vancouver to date occurred on Sunday, September 13. The Vancouver Freedom Rally 2020, organized by Ryan Kulbaba, had around 1,000 attendees at its peak, and Rebel News was there all day to cover it.

The protesters gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery, marched around the surrounding area for approximately 30 minutes, then reconvened back at the Art Gallery for speeches and live music.

This protest came just days after British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer, Bonnie Henry, ordered the first business lock-down of the season, forcing “all nightclubs and stand-alone banquet halls” to close until the government says otherwise.

As of 2018, small and medium sized businesses employ 89.5 per cent of Canadians working in in the private sector.

It should be to no surprise then that many of the freedom rally attendees were concerned about the ability of Canadian business to survive any additional COVID-19 restrictions.

I spoke with author and broadcaster Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson after she gave a speech at the rally. She believes it’s time for Canadians to get back to work.

Watch here to find out why.

The Vancouver Freedom Rally 2020 was full of passionate Canadians just like Laura Lynn and Rebel News will have more reports from the protest.
