Ontario Mask Exemption
Requirements (applies in addition to regional bylaws)
Businesses and organizations must ensure that persons located in an indoor area within their premises, or a vehicle that operates as part of the business or organization, wear a mask. Requirement also applies to persons in line for outdoor recreational amenities, and on downhill ski lifts.
Exemptions
- Children under age 2
- Person with medical condition that inhibits their ability to wear a mask
- Persons unable to put on or remove mask without assistance

Temporary removal of mask to:
- Receive services that require mask removal
- Engage in athletic or fitness activity
- Consume food or drink
- As may be necessary for purposes of health and safety
- Person who is being reasonably accommodated in accordance with Human Rights Code or Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Employees in an area not accessible to members of the public, if able to maintain 2-metre physical distance from others
- Persons attending school, or child care programs operating in compliance with Ministry of Education guidance
- Persons performing or rehearsing in film, television, concert, artistic, theatrical, or other performance
