Ottawa just poured half a billion dollars into Algoma Steel only to watch a thousand workers lose their livelihoods.

Instead of subsidizing layoffs, the federal government should revive the major pipeline projects it previously killed, using Canadian-made steel to build the backbone of a strong, self-sufficient energy economy.

Pipelines require no taxpayer bailouts, create long-term industrial demand, and support communities across the country.

We, the undersigned, demand that the federal government approve and support pipeline construction in Canada and commit to using Canadian steel to rebuild our industrial future.
