We, the undersigned, call on our federal and provincial governments to welcome data centre investment in Canada rather than block it.

Data centres power the everyday technology Canadians rely on — streaming, banking, cloud storage, social media, and the artificial intelligence that will define the next generation of our economy. Meta's $13 billion investment in Alberta, built with its own natural gas power and advanced cooling, brings thousands of construction jobs, hundreds of permanent positions, and tens of millions in local infrastructure — all without a dollar of taxpayer money. Moratoriums and cancellations like those in New York and Manitoba don't stop people from using data; they simply hand this critical industry, and its jobs and strategic advantages, to China.

We urge you to reject bans, punitive taxes, and fearmongering, and instead ensure that Canada remains a home for the technology and computing power our future depends on.
