Manitoba politicians create a special exemption from mask-wearing — for themselves!

Let’s start with the good news: the pandemic is over.
The number of cases in Canada peaked in mid-April.
It’s now down to numbers so low, you almost can’t even see them on the chart.
Just a reminder, last year the “regular” flu killed 8,511 Canadians. Total number of people killed by Coronavirus — almost exactly the same: 8,737.
And one of the safest places to be in Canada is friendly Manitoba.
No new cases for six days in a row.
I haven’t been able to find conclusive stats, but I think you might have a higher risk of being attacked by polar bears than dying of the virus in Manitoba.
So Manitoba — which is cured, which is safe, the pandemic there is done — is now forcing everyone to wear masks.
Maybe we should have had masks three months ago. I don’t know. Taiwan uses masks and they’ve had a grand total of seven deaths, in a country of 24 million people right next to China.
But masks — now?
Manitoba public health orders exempt elected officials — and several other types of individuals who provide vital services — from self-isolation orders when travelling outside Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.
A spokeswoman for Manitoba Health said elected officials and their staff can travel for business or vacation or a combination of both, and they do not have to self-isolate when they return to Manitoba if they are not displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, as they are engaged in providing a vital service.
Does the virus check with someone to see if they’re a politician or a mere mortal first?
This isn’t medical science. It’s politics.
Why the current obsession with masks and quarantines — for the little people only — now that we’re done?
TONIGHT I'll show you one theory, and of course it involves Justin Trudeau...
What will you do? Will you do it just to be compliant — to show how Canadians obey?
Will you do the same when they come with their untested, made-in-China vaccine, too?
NEXT: Columnist Lorne Gunter joins me to talk about the latest development in the WE Charity scandal, that members of Justin Trudeau's family were paid nearly $300,000 to speak at WE events.
FINALLY: Your messages to me!
