On the third anniversary of Hamas's October 7 massacre, a Montreal4Palestine protester displayed a portrait of Abu Obaida, the former spokesman for Hamas's military wing, alongside an Arabic slogan declaring, "Jihad: victory or martyrdom."
But this wasn't the first time similar rhetoric appeared at Montreal demonstrations.
Rebel News journalist Anastasia Zorchinsky investigates the slogan's origins, previous controversies involving Montreal4Palestine, and the growing concerns surrounding extremist rhetoric on Canadian streets.
After bringing the evidence to Montreal police and filing a national security report with the RCMP, Zorchinsky asks whether these incidents cross Canada's legal boundaries and what authorities will do next.
