Man accused of sexually assaulting woman and teenage girl in Brampton was on probation

Police arrested 33-year-old Olusegun Onidare after a member of the public reportedly recognized him from an image released by investigators.

A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and a teenage girl in two separate Brampton incidents has been charged with breaching a probation order.

Peel Regional Police allege both assaults occurred on Monday, August 31.

In the first incident, a woman in her 20s was shopping at a mall near Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard when an unknown man allegedly approached and sexually assaulted her.

Later that day, a girl under 18 was waiting at a transit terminal near Central Park Drive and Queen Street East when the same man allegedly approached her, began a conversation and sexually assaulted her.

Police said both victims escaped and immediately reported the alleged attacks.

Investigators released an image of the suspect and appealed to the public for assistance. According to police, a member of the public recognized the man and contacted investigators.

Police subsequently arrested Olusegun Onidare, 33, of no fixed address.

Onidare has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police are asking anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have experienced a similar encounter, to contact investigators with the 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-453-2121, extension 2133.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
