On September 10, 2019, Manitobans will cast their vote in their provincial election a full year earlier than expected.

Conservative Premier Brian Pallister is asking Manitobans to give him a second term. NDP leader Wab Kinew is asking Manitobans to return his party to power after they were replaced after nearly 2 decades in government by Pallister’s Progressive Conservatives in 2016.

My guest tonight has been tracking the polls and the stories that matter to voters and he has been paying close attention to the kinds of media coverage the election campaign is getting.

Is the media coverage of the Manitoba campaign as bad as Alberta’s? Is that even possible?

Winnipeg-based journalist Marty Gold of TheJ.ca joins me in an interview we recorded yesterday afternoon to discuss these issues and more, plus his predictions for election day.
