The rise of nationalism and populism: Ezra Levant and Ryan Girdusky
On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Ryan James Girdusky, co-author of the new book, They're Not Listening: How The Elites Created the National Populist Revolution calls in to talk about the difference between nationalism and populism and its rise around the world.
“[National populism] is a global movement, it's not just derided [in the book] as either old white people from either the rust belt or Northern England who are angry about the loss of sovereignty and mass immigration. You have national populist movements, parties and positions on every continent on the globe.”
In this clip from the full interview, Girdusky talks about where these movements are at (based on opinion polling) in both Canada and Australia.
