Carbon tax: Trudeau raises it 50%, Manitoba puts it on hold (Guest: Marty Gold)

Justin Trudeau is proceeding with his cruel and inhuman 50 per cent hike in the carbon tax in the midst of possibly the worst economic crisis in the last 100 years.

Manitoba's Progressive Conservative government was set to bring in their own version of the carbon tax to comply with the federal government's requirements that each province have one.

It was a stark contrast to the Conservative governments in Alberta and Saskatchewan, which are both fighting the federal government in court against the forced implementation of the carbon tax.

However, in light of the Covid 19 pandemic, and the economic and social shutdown resulting from it, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister is putting his carbon tax on ice.

Joining me tonight to talk about coronavirus news from Manitoba and the cancellation of Manitoba's carbon tax is independent Winnipeg journalist Marty Gold.
