The infamous Officer Bubbles blows it again!
The Toronto police officer was captured in footage appearing to provide residents with cigarettes.
Oh-oh. Sgt. Bubbles, that ever bumbling Toronto police officer with serious anger management issues, has stepped in it yet again.
The latest shenanigans re: Sgt. Adam Josephs, a.k.a., Bubbles? Well, he was allegedly caught on camera in downtown Toronto the other day… passing out cigarettes to people who appeared to be drug addicts.
That’s a problem. For starters, Bubbles is seemingly breaking the Police Act, which states that police officers CANNOT give or receive gifts. In fact, Regulation 407/23 of the Code of Conduct for Police Officers states: “Gifting property to citizens or suspects on duty can trigger disciplinary reviews under specific infractions.”
And our police sources tell us that giving cigarettes to people who are likely drug addicts is something fraught with danger. Cigarettes can be dipped in liquid fentanyl or another illicit drug so that the addict can achieve a high. But what happens if that drug addict overdoses and dies? Well, if the cigarette is linked back to a police officer channeling his inner Santa Claus, then the Toronto Police Service could potentially be sued.
Way to go, Bubbles!
The other unintentionally funny part of the video was Bubbles demanding good manners from the addicts. That’s rich, the idea of Bubbles believing himself to be a next-generation Emily Post. That’s because Bubbles is perhaps the rudest hothead on the Toronto Police Service. Remember how he harassed (and subsequently arrested) a young woman for the egregious crime of… blowing bubbles? It happened in June 2012 when Toronto was hosting the G20. The video went viral and Adams earned a brand new nickname (which he despises to this day.)
And he’s never learned any lessons from that encounter. Indeed, a few years ago we encountered Officer Bubbles at a Tim Hortons store. He actually physically pushed the microphone away when questioned. Bubbles didn’t like being called “Bubbles”…
The really disturbing thing about Officer Bubbles is this: he acts like a goon even when he knows he’s being filmed! He just doesn’t give a rodent’s rectum! And the question arises: if this is how Bubbles acts on camera, how does he act when he’s NOT being filmed? Yikes!
Bottom line: Officer Bubbles, you’ve been on the force for more than 30 years and you have proven beyond a doubt that the old adage is true — one cannot teach an old dog new tricks. Therefore, Bubbles, do the city and its citizens a favour by retiring. Trust us folks: the streets of Hogtown will be safer once this thug with a badge is put out to pasture…
