Alberta's NDP say face masks not enough in schools, demand thousands more teachers
The Alberta government has mandated the use of non-medical masks inside of Alberta schools for students in grades 4 through 12 for the coming school year.
To assist in this plan more than 1.6 million masks will be distributed to 740,000 students and 90,000 staff by the government.
Students will be required to wear a mask in all shared common areas like hallways, meeting places and on the school bus.
My prediction is that this is going to result in bullying of kids, by other kids who are conditioned by the adults around them to see unmasked people as Typhoid Marys, and by adults who just can't manage to control their inner Karen when they see a bare face.
And that includes Rachel Notley's Alberta New Democratic Party, which is using the coronavirus to try to meet their wish list demands for public education.
The Alberta NDP and their public sector education front groups say that masks, thermometers, and face shields aren’t going to be enough. They'd like to see a class size cap of 15 students which means pretty much doubling the number of public sector teachers employed by the province.
