Andy Ngo’s new book investigates the Zizians, a violent cult linked to multiple killings
In an interview with Ezra Levant, the journalist examines the group’s ideology, alleged links to at least eight homicides and the challenges of prosecuting extremist networks.
Journalist Andy Ngo joins Ezra Levant to discuss his new book, The Zizians: Inside a Trans Death Cult, investigating a small extremist group linked to multiple violent deaths in the United States and beyond.
Ngo describes the Zizians as a group blending trans ideology, far-left politics, rationalism, veganism and concerns about artificial intelligence. He says his investigation uncovered connections between members and several homicide cases, with some suspects now facing proceedings in multiple states.
The group’s members were not necessarily social outsiders. Ngo says some came from elite academic and professional backgrounds, including technology and finance, while becoming involved in an ideology centred on grievance and perceived victimhood.
The interview also examines Antifa, which Ngo describes as a decentralized movement that can be difficult to dismantle because of its autonomous cells and the legal protections surrounding political association and expression.
Ngo discusses U.S. prosecutions targeting alleged Antifa networks, including cases involving terrorism-related charges, and the challenges authorities face when investigating loosely organized extremist groups.
The conversation also gets into Canadian connections, including the 2026 Tumbler Ridge mass shooting and concerns about ideological extremism crossing borders.
