Nearly a year after Carney's election, Canada remains in crisis
Carney's lived up to his name — like a carny on the midway, the Liberal prime minister has been all rigged games and bluster — or all talk, no cattle, as they say out west.
Guest host: David Menzies
Next month marks the one-year anniversary of the Mark Carney Liberals winning the federal election — time sure flies when you're not having fun.
So many Canadians, especially baby boomers, bought the hype: Carney as the adult in the room dealing with Donald Trump on trade, and the strongman against the “existential threat” of China.
Eleven months on, and we've got no trade deal with our biggest partner in sight. Carney seems to go out of his way to provoke Trump—recognizing the fake state of Palestine, flipping five positions on the Iranian war in five days.
China? Suddenly not an existential threat, but a trade partner. Cheap Chinese EVs are coming, supposedly to help our struggling auto industry. (A steak dinner to anyone who can explain that one.) TikTok keeps operating under Chinese ownership. Sweet.
Carney's lived up to his name — like a carny on the midway, all rigged games and bluster. All talk, no cattle, as they say out west.
Yet polls show the Liberals surging. 338 Canada notes recent momentum, with Léger showing them at 49% to the Conservatives' 35%.
In Ontario, the Liberals lead the Conservatives 52-36; in Quebec, 48-20, with Tories in third behind the Bloc.
Former NDP leader Jagmeet Singh's scorched-earth pension chase has them at 5%, doomed to irrelevancy or worse.
By every measure — unemployment, inflation, food banks, tent cities — the Carney Liberals are all sizzle and no steak. Trillions in oil and gas wealth sit untapped.
But boomers, those born 1946-1965, make up nearly 25% of the population and vote reliably. Young voters lean Conservative, but their turnout is low.
The Liberals aren't stupid. Their boomer base is aging out — with the oldest entering their 80s. That's why they're all-in on mass migration, with Canada welcoming over 1,000 permanent residencies per day this year.
Anchor babies, loopholes, “humanitarian” stays. Protests in Brampton by “temporary” foreign workers chant “no one is illegal on stolen land” while slamming Canada as racist.
Non-citizen crime stories are piling up. Fentanyl busts, child abductions, stabbings tied to Khalistani disputes. Yet the mainstream media barely notices.
All the while, the Liberals bend rules: non-citizens are influencing party nominations, they're planning for foreigners in the military (even IRGC members?), Chinese police stations on Canadian soil remain largely untouched.
Carney declares “Muslim values are Canadian values.”
Importing the world's poor will cost a fortune, and guess who pays? Boomers' primary residences could face capital gains tax once their votes depreciate.
Wake up, boomers. Loyalty means nothing when the base is dying off. The joke's on you.

Paul Scofield commented 2026-03-12 11:14:58 -0400Hey Ms. Watt, from the outside, it seems like Canada’s corruption is more publicly and institutionally in lockstep with the government than in the States. The idea of “Human Rights Commissions/Tribunals” and state funding of the CBC come to mind. So, too, does the knee-jerk apologizing and idiotic land acknowledgements to the so-called “First Nations” tribes, the Kamloops Residential School race hustle and the Cowichan and Musqueam BC land grabs
Difficult to say if Canada is too far gone to come back from the current issues assailing it. Here’s hoping that they do. I do not think, however, that the Carney government will return to the status quo ante relationship with America. It simply has too much to lose to give up their get-out-the-vote “boogeyman” of Mr. Trump.
I do not blame Albertans from wanting to fly over and way away from Mr. Carney’s Cuckoo’s Nest. Many have voted with their feet and have left similar spots as California and New York. -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:40:37 -0400We need a DOGE!! We likely have even MORE corruption than they have even in the States!! I’m willing to bet!! -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:35:59 -0400Why weren’t those bureaucrats made to repay their unnecessary expenses? I would DEMAND compensation if I were a B.C. taxpayer!! -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:26:39 -0400Oh ya, and then there’s MAiD!! -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:25:02 -0400Excellent reporting David!! People need to wake up. We can’t simply “blame” boomers. We need to make them aware of what is happening because most are likely more concerned with our healthcare system & trying to purchase food etc. or suffering from dementia which seems to be going around.
Muslim values ARE NOT & NEVER WILL BE CANADA’S VALUES. Carney is truly a dangerous man & that’s becoming more & more apparent. -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:16:57 -0400If the boomers are voting liberals are in the 80’s no wonder. Most are likely computer illiterate & simply rely on what they’re told by the CBC because that is the media they most likely follow. And, as described in the House of Commons investigations having a former CBC individual testify, the CBC is a horrible place to work and constantly spews propaganda against opposition parties & also refuse to even interview Conservatives. So of course, they’re not getting the full story. -
Angela Watt commented 2026-03-12 10:13:38 -0400I am a “boomer” & have supported the conservatives for decades! I have to admit, most of the individuals I interact with are also boomers & obviously hate conservatives both provincial & federal. When I ask them why, they simply regurgitate what the CBC (mostly) are saying that is very obviously false and/or biased because there’s “more to the story” than what they’re preaching.
And what the hell does “elbows up” even mean? It’s dumb!! -
Blue Vista commented 2026-03-12 07:30:08 -0400Once you started on the boomers trope I stopped the video.
That is part of the propaganda from the left. It’s lazy journalism, and not expected from Rebel.
If you check the actual poll number you will see that actually all demographics support the Conservatives similarly, boomers just slightly less.
We are lost if you continue to promote that division. ALL demographics need to increase support of the Conservatives to defeat the Liberals, and that’s where the focus should be.
If 5% more boomers supported the Conservatives, it wouldn’t move the needle that much and the Liberals would still win a majority. If 5% of ALL demographics moved to Conservatives, the Conservatives would have a good chance to win.
Focus on boomers is not enough! And it ignores the question “if so many non-boomers are negatively affected by the Liberal policies, why do so many non-boomers support them?”
Do better. -
susan gerbes commented 2026-03-11 22:17:43 -0400Tired of Carnage??? I am disgusted. I don’t know how any of those Libs can sleep at night. Any bill or law or judge for that matter, that has once been a foundation for this great country, Carnage has cut down and obliterated. No guilt, no future, no economy, little growth. He is pathetic as our leader. And that’s the best I can say….. -
Bruce Atchison commented 2026-03-11 21:27:28 -0400I sure am tired of Carney. And I’m even more tired of liberal boomers saying how wonderful he is. Carney is a WEF operative who wrote his manifesto on globalism.
