WATCH: People power FORCES council BACKFLIP on Aussie flag ban
Outrage from everyday Aussies just forced a woke council to scrap its sneaky plan to sideline our national flag.
Outside Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, I saw what real people power looks like. A crowd of proud Aussies gathered to stand up for the flag that so many fought and died for — and they won.
Council had planned to vote on a policy that could’ve allowed the Australian flag to be pulled down from official buildings under the guise of “cultural sensitivity.” But after locals caught wind and a protest was announced, council suddenly yanked the policy from its agenda.
“They knew that we were coming. And they knew that we would stand up and fight for what we believe in,” one protester told me. “Keep your hands off our flag. This is our flag and we will hold it proudly. And don’t you dare take it off us.”
These people weren’t extremists, they were everyday Australians sick of councils being hijacked by woke nonsense. “They should stick to the rubbish and roads and looking after the place,” another protester said.
I even caught up with Mornington mayor who confirmed the draft policy had been withdrawn. “The draft probably didn’t hit the mark,” he admitted. But when I pressed him about whether the public backlash played a role, he dodged. “I can’t speak for every conversation that happens.”
Let’s be honest — they got caught.
“They’re too scared to bring it forward,” protest organiser Nick Patterson said. “He wouldn’t acknowledge that though.”
Whether or not they try to sneak this back in later, one thing’s clear: they’ve been put on notice.
And the best part? The victory’s already inspiring more action. “People power does work and it’s going to work again on Sunday,” Patterson said, promoting the upcoming rally to defend Christian heritage on Sunday 27 July at 2pm, starting from Fitzroy Gardens, in response to the shocking footage of thousands of Shia Muslims surrounding St Patrick’s Cathedral in a confronting religious display.
This win proves something vital: show up, speak up, and don’t back down. The tide is turning.
I couldn’t do this kind of frontline reporting without Big Daniel, my security guard, by my side to keep me safe. A massive thanks to everyone who chips in so I can keep bringing you the stories the mainstream won’t touch.
