Shannon Brault commented 2025-06-13 21:07:50 -0400@B & K Pringle – working gives you an edge some of us don’t have. My money is gone before I get it so I can’t put money towards anything. A trip to Timmies isn’t something I get to indulge in unless someone treats me. I really get frustrated with the attitude some people have. Just because you can manage $5 doesn’t mean everyone can. Some of us don’t have that cushion.

I’m sure there are many people, couples who are not able to travel who are vitally interested in these topics & would pay a reasonable amount to be able to view & learn from the talks. By setting the financial standards/rules in place many people you claim to represent cannot participate.

B & K Pringle commented 2025-06-13 20:50:10 -0400Hello All,
I am as strapped as the next person. I am 55, on disability and make minimum wage. I made a decision about 5 years ago that I would no longer say “I can’t do anything” or “I can’t afford it”. I could usually afford 5 dollars. Consider making a choice to give 5 dollars to these crucial causes when they come in front of you. The soldiers on the front lines of WW2 needed everyone at home to have their back. They were giving everything. The least we could do is give up a trip to Tim Horton’s. People in Canada that were not physically fighting sent care packages or made bullets. Even kids went around the neighborhoods gathering scrap rubber to help the war effort. We all have some bottles we can take back. We all have stuff we have been keeping forever and won’t ever use. We can sell this stuff on Facebook marketplace. I believe we can’t afford not to. -
Shannon Brault commented 2025-06-13 14:54:28 -0400@Louise Barnett – That’s a wonderful idea. I still hope there’s going to be an online referendum to vote. I also hope there’s going to be a video we can watch later that gives something of what is said. I have nothing to give but I’d like to be able to be a part of this in some small way.

Jamie Perritt commented 2025-06-11 01:00:42 -0400Good for her. The whole thing is just nonsense. Anyone who doesn’t want to share in this day and age , really doesn’t need to live here.
Lots of countries to choose from if we’re so horrible.
Bottom line – there was a war and the Europeans won. Wars happen everyday all over the world.
The people who lost the land do not live in Canada – they are deceased. -
B & K Pringle commented 2025-06-10 16:56:15 -0400Dear Andrea Gurren,
My name is Brandon Pringle. I saw your below post.
Like Patricia Webster, I too have very lengthy experience with the electoral and political scene in BC. I am an Albertan investigative journalist and executive producer, having international experience in 7 different countries. Can you provide a journalist rate so we can attend, please? There are two of us, my husband and I. Thanks.
I am on the front lines of stopping the surgical sexual mutilation of children. 2000 little girls have already been butchered.

Shannon Brault commented 2025-06-10 16:03:59 -0400@ David Heinze – You’re not missing anything. Other than some of us can’t afford even that. However, a free online option that shows at least the highlishts would be appreciated. And by highlights I mean something more than a brief overview.
-
David Heinze commented 2025-06-10 15:46:23 -0400What am I missing. General Admission, which includes Breakfast & Lunch is $49, or for a couple it is $98. That does not seem unreasonable to me.
I would encourage an online option to view live or afterwards for those who cannot make it in person because of scheduling and/or distance to travel. Being there is best, but virtual is better than missing. Unfortunately, I cannot attend, but would happily pay $50 for that option. -

Shannon Brault commented 2025-06-07 15:23:55 -0400@Paul Carter – Two people asking for assistance isn’t communism. What is wrong with you?
-
P Carter commented 2025-06-07 14:28:51 -0400@Shannon Brault – Enough communism, okay? Life isn’t a subsidy.
-
Shannon Brault commented 2025-06-07 11:23:52 -0400@Paul Carter – TWO whole people asked for discounts because they’re part of the electoral/political scene. TWO. One of them asked for an online referendum vote for those of us who can’t attend. This is a request I appreciate. I’m not seeing enough people asking for help in attending to make the kind of comment you made. What’s sick is someone seeing TWO people ask for help and automatically go to “It’s basically a sickness.” Those of us that are on hard times also get a vote on this issue, not just ignorant jerks who think that just because they’re working and can afford nice things they can abuse those of us who aren’t as blessed.
-
P Carter commented 2025-06-07 10:28:52 -0400Hard to believe people expect hand-outs on discounted tickets while 90% of the rest of us pay the full amount. This is another thing that’s wrong with Canada today. Too many people holding their hands out and wanting to be taken care of. It’s basically a sickness.

Andrea McGurran commented 2025-06-04 16:59:05 -0400My husband and I would love to come, but the cost of the tickets is too much for us. Can you set up an online referendum vote for those of us unable to attend, please?
-
Patricia Webster commented 2025-06-04 16:58:04 -0400I second Shannon Brault’s comment below. Perhaps you forget that those of us who have a very lengthy experience with the electoral and political scene in Canada do, in fact, have a lot to offer by way of experience? I don’t appreciate being discarded because I can’t pay. I’ve worked at Queen’s Park, Toronto, ON and all my life volunteered in municipal, provincial and federal elections. I was there when Darcy MacKeough introduced his idea of the Guaranteed Income Supplement, something that has helped so many of us in our later years. I’ve also done a lot more than most politicians for this country. Court Reporter, Family Law, journalism, etc. Please stop and consider that it is not all about money.
-
Shannon Brault commented 2025-05-31 12:02:04 -0400I would dearly love to attend, but the cost of tickets is prohibitive for me. I’ll be there in spirit, Rebel Fam!
