In 2017, PM Harper's one-time finance minister Joe Oliver explained everything wrong with new Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's failed attempt to enact "electoral reform."
It was really his attempt to manipulate our electoral system for partisan advantage; His unstated goal was to change the way we have elected our Members of Parliament since Confederation by introducing ranked or preferential ballots.
Oliver's analysis remains relevant today, as a warning about the Liberals' persistent attempts "rig the system," to keep themselves in power as long as possible.
