In this clip from yesterday's livestream, David Menzies and Sheila Gunn Reid discussed Justin Trudeau's Throne Speech, which includes his vow to go through with a single-use plastics ban in 2021.
Here's what Sheila had to say:
“Everything is disposable — as it should be. There are ways to deal with plastic, and I'm pro-incinerator, and turning that locked fossil fuel back into energy again, burning it for electricity.
“Recycling? Recycling seems like great virtue signaling, and it seems good in theory, but often times it takes more energy to recycle these things than it does to produce something new.”
