Dear Prime Minister Carney,

On September 22, a man wearing the Chinese flag assaulted a peaceful Falun Gong practitioner on a public sidewalk outside Beijing's consulate in Toronto, declared the sidewalk "Chinese territory," and threatened to kill her. This is transnational repression on Canadian soil, and it is part of a pattern: the Chinese Communist Party's so-called "police stations" in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal exist to track, intimidate and silence Chinese-Canadians.

I call on you to identify and charge the man responsible, and to deport him if he is not a Canadian citizen; to expel any Chinese diplomat found to be involved in intimidating people in Canada, as Canada did with Zhao Wei in 2023; and to permanently shut down every CCP police station operating in this country.

Chinese-Canadians are Canadians. This is Canada, not Beijing.
