The world's richest man has a message for the Liberal government in Ottawa: let them go.
Space X owner Elon Musk posted his support for three provinces separating from Canada, two days after the separatist Parti Québécois won Quebec's election as a minority government.
"Good. Quebec should separate," Musk wrote on Wednesday afternoon in reply to a Polymarket post about Quebec's incoming premier, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, declaring that his dream of Québécois independence "will be realized one day."

A minute later, Musk went further, suggesting Quebec "would be better off" and that "Alberta and Saskatchewan should separate too."
Earlier in the day, Musk had quote-posted Rebel News founder Ezra Levant, who wrote that "Quebec just handed power to a party that wants out of Canada." Musk's reply was one word: "True."

The PQ won Monday's election with a projected 56 seats, enough to form a minority government. St-Pierre Plamondon has promised a referendum on leaving Canada during his first term, though not before January.
Musk's posts land at a tense moment for Canada.
Albertans vote October 19 on a referendum question that includes an option to begin a binding process toward separation. Independence campaigners have spent months arguing that Ottawa takes the province's oil wealth for granted and gives little back.
With more than 200 million followers, Musk can put a fringe idea in front of more people in a minute than the $1.2 billion per year funding from the taxpayers, CBC, reaches in a year.
Rebel News reached out to the Prime Minister's Office for comment.
