Chrystia Freeland has accepted a formal advisory role with the government of Ukraine — while still sitting as a Canadian MP and holding a federal appointment connected to Ukraine’s reconstruction.

That’s not “public service.” That’s split loyalties.

Canadians elect MPs to fight for their constituents and to be accountable to Canada — not to hold official titles for a foreign government at the same time. The principle is simple: you can’t serve two masters and expect Canadians to trust the outcome.

Prime Minister Mark Carney can’t “fire” an MP from elected office, but he can fire her from every Government of Canada role and appointment that depends on his confidence.

We call on Prime Minister Mark Carney to immediately fire Chrystia Freeland from all federal roles and appointments, effective now.
