More than 45,000 illegal immigrants crossed the English Channel in small boats in 2022 alone and numbers are continuing to rise in 2023. The UK taxpayer is currently paying more than six million pounds per day to house the migrants in 400+ hotels around the UK whilst their asylum applications. British seaside towns have seen record levels of migrant arrivals and people are fearing the UK tourist industry.
The number of illegal crossings is expected to break records again this year partly because the Border Force and Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeboats have been acting as a taxi service for the illegal crossings.
Conservative politicians have said we’d send the migrants to Rwanda, that we’d house them in disused ferries and disused military bases. As yet none of the government’s deterrents have been acted upon and the number of illegal crossings continue to rise.
It is clear beyond doubt now that the majority of people making this illegal crossing are economic migrants, yet the government have been unable to stop the boats. Most the migrants crossing the channel are young men, not vulnerable women and children from war-torn countries.
We want to send a message to the UK government and show them the British people are completely against the illegal crossings being facilitated by the Border force and the RNLI.
If you agree that the government must stop illegal migrants from entering this country, sign this petition.
