“I'm more worried about my freedom”: PPC leader Maxime Bernier on COVID-19, economy and York Centre by-election

You never know who you’ll bump into at a #YahooNation protest... and such was the case last Saturday when the leader of the People’s Party of Canada, Maxime Bernier, made an appearance at Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square.

Needless to say, the straight-talking Bernier received a hero’s welcome at the event. It was as if, at long last, a true conservative politician was finally spotted in uber-Liberal Hogtown.

Bernier offered his take on a number of popular issues, calling Conservative leader Erin O'Toole "Liberal-lite," while also asserting that the Wuhan virus curve was FLAT!

While Max’s words certainly resonated with the public, does he have enough support to win a seat in a Liberal stronghold?

Mr. Bernier will be running as the PPC candidate in this month’s Toronto by-election in York Centre, a long-haul from his former riding in Beauce, Quebec. Can he turn a dark-red riding... purple? We shall all find out on October 26!
