Republicans allege FBI fumbled investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails
The FBI earlier investigated Hillary Clinton, Obama’s Secretary of State (2009-2013), for mishandling classified materials on a private server.

Declassified documents released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley reveal the FBI "failed to fully investigate" Hillary Clinton's private email server during her time as Secretary of State.
"This document shows an extreme lack of effort and due diligence in the FBI’s investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s email usage and mishandling of highly classified information," Grassley said in a Monday press release.
He accused then-FBI Director James Comey and his cohort for not properly investigating Clinton, unlike its vigorous pursuit of the uncorroborated Trump-Russia collusion hoax. “Comey’s decision-making process smacks of political infection."

DON'T MISS THIS: The Department of Justice just confirmed that President Obama ordered the FBI to shut down the Clinton email scandal. FBI Director James Comey followed orders and buried it.

"No reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case," then-FBI director James Comey said in a press release, despite evidence of potential violations on handling classified information. Prosecutors weigh factors like evidence strength (especially intent) and past similar cases before bringing charges, he wrote.
Chairman Grassley declassified and released materials from the "Clinton annex," an appendix to the 2018 report on the DOJ and FBI’s handling of the Clinton investigation. Attorney General Pam Bondi and other Trump administration leaders declassified and delivered the materials at Grassley's request.
Grassley's office alleges Comey and FBI leaders failed to search thumb drives from the Clinton investigation, according to Fox News. These unreviewed drives reportedly contained sensitive data from U.S. government agencies, the State Department, Obama’s emails, and congressional information.
The FBI ignored reports into the Obama administration allegedly trying to “scuttle” the Clinton investigation.
“I’m grateful the American people can finally see the facts,” Grassley stated, courtesy of Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel.
He thanked them for their commitment to transparency and urged a full review, including national security implications.

Grassley's release follows DNI Tulsi Gabbard's claims that Obama-era officials reportedly "manufactured and politicized intelligence" to create a narrative of Russian influence in the 2016 election.
Gabbard released unclassified documents on Friday, presenting "overwhelming evidence" that Obama and his national security team prepared the Trump-Russia collusion investigation after Trump's 2016 victory over Clinton.
Gabbard posted to X on Friday regarding the criminal referral: "Their goal was to usurp President Trump and subvert the will of the American people. Every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted. The integrity of our democratic republic depends on it. We are turning over all documents to the DOJ for criminal referral."
Gabbard stated her intent to send the documents to the FBI and DOJ for criminal referral; the DOJ declined to comment, according to Politico.

Bruce Atchison commented 2025-07-22 21:47:39 -0400Deliberate fumbling is what I believe happened. It’s part of socialism to tilt elections in their favour through breaking laws. After all, if there’s no higher power, we become the ones who make rules and decide who can break them.
