Please sign the petition to demand this "OCTOBER7" Ontario license plate be revoked!
We, the undersigned, call on Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria to revoke a personalized license plate that celebrates the Palestinian terrorist attack on innocent Israelis and tourists on October 7, 2023. Ontario has clear rules about personalized plates, and these must be enforced equally, especially when it comes to potential displays of hate or support for terrorism.
Recently, a man in Ontario shared an image of a personalized plate that seems to glorify this brutal attack. In the photo, he’s shown holding up two fingers in a “V” gesture.
Ontario rejects hundreds of personalized license plates every year, sometimes even those with harmless meanings (insert notable examples here). Given this precedent, it’s alarming that a plate with such an inflammatory message could be approved. If this plate is authentic, it contradicts Ontario’s own regulations.
We urge Premier Ford and Minister Sarkaria to take immediate action: investigate this case and revoke the plate in question. Please sign this petition and share it widely to help ensure that Ontario’s policies are applied fairly and that hate has no place on our roads.
