We’re not including all the various federal and provincial deficits, of course.

Meanwhile, by every measurable economic benchmark, Canada is a sinking ship under the stewardship of the federal Liberals. From food bank usage and homelessness to the cost of living and unemployment. It’s grim.

We don’t mean to be impatient, but when does that whole “elbows up” thingy kick in?

Another $100 million for Palestine

And yet, somehow the Carney Liberals have hundreds and hundreds of millions to give away — like Santa Claus on a bender. And get this: sometimes the recipients of those taxpayer-funded gifts are terrorists and those who support terrorism.

Case in point: earlier this week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Mark Carney was once again channeling his inner-Kris Kringle. And so it was that Carney pledged another $100 million in aid for Palestine in an effort to preserve “the possibility of a two-state solution.” To which we say, what’s wrong with a one-state solution?

The Prime Minister’s Office says the new commitment consists of $80 million in humanitarian assistance for Gaza and the West Bank and $20 million for peace and stabilization initiatives. Read the government announcement →

But we digress...

For those keeping score at home, Ottawa has pledged more than $600 million in aid for Palestinian civilians since the Israel-Hamas war started in October 2023.

That’s right. Following the single biggest one-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, Liberals aren’t condemning such behaviour, but rather, rewarding it.

Indeed, we all know Hamas will likely be the biggest beneficiary of that donation. That’s because thievery is one of their bailiwicks. And if you think otherwise, then we have some nice oceanfront property for sale in sunny Saskatchewan.

Carney’s two-state strategy

This is gross. But it’s also part of a multi-faceted strategy by Carney. Which is to say, this latest donation is all about being passive-aggressive toward U.S. President Donald Trump. You may recall that last September, Carney officially recognized the State of Palestine. Carney didn’t mention if Canada also plans to recognize Narnia, Wakanda, and the Land of Oz. But give him time…

The point is, President Trump didn’t like that announcement. And given that this announcement occurred on the eve of a Canada-U.S. trade deal deadline, don’t you find that somewhat suspicious?

But for Carney, this is his version of The Art of the Deal: namely, to further antagonize the U.S. President to further inflame a trade crisis. The more dire things become between our two nations, the better it is for the federal Liberals. Just check out the polls, showing that almost eight in 10 Canadians approve of the Carney Liberals’ strategy. It’s called the “Trump Bump.” And the Carney Liberals have absolutely no hesitation of putting party before country.

What about Hamas?

Sadly, with the most recent giveaway of $100 million, there was no caveat announced that the funding was conditional on Hamas being dismantled.

But then again, talk about knowing the room. Which is to say Carney is well aware that the United Nations has repeatedly singled out Israel for condemnation.

Case in point: did you know that last year alone, the UN General Assembly passed 15 resolutions condemning the State of Israel? Compare this to just 11 resolutions condemning all the other nations of the world combined.

That’s right: Iran slaughters its own citizens. Yawn. More than 14 million people have been displaced in Sudan. Boring. North Korea starves its own people to fund its nuclear ambitions. Ho-hum. Uyghur Muslims in China are incarcerated in concentration camps. Hey, stuff happens…

And where does the money go?

And let us never forget the serious allegations surrounding UNRWA – the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. Ostensibly, this U.N. organization is meant to help Palestinian refugees.

Israel has alleged that nearly 1,500 UNRWA employees in Gaza are members of Hamas or other terrorist organizations. UNRWA has disputed broader Israeli allegations about infiltration of the agency.

And what is all this aid needed for? Contrary to what the mainstream media regurgitates, there is no famine in Gaza.

In fact, the opposite is true. A nutrition survey, which was coordinated by UNICEF no less, shows that children in Gaza have low levels of acute malnutrition.

Indeed, forget about starvation, a more pressing problem these days is obesity.

Indeed, more than 30% of Palestinians are obese. That’s interesting. Maybe Canada shouldn’t send food to Gaza but Ozempic.

Canadian taxpayers deserve answers

Bottom line: if Carney is so insistent on rewarding terrorism and terrorists, can he exclude the ever-beleaguered Canadian taxpayer from this gross virtue-signaling exercise?

In other words, if the PM wants to cut nine-figure cheques to jihadis, maybe he can get his billionaire buddies at Brookfield Asset Management to cover the costs. Unlike the Dominion of Canada, we understand business is brisk at Brookfield these days…
