In Beijing, you described Canada as standing “at a crossroads” and suggested that our future lies not with our historic democratic allies, but in helping China shape a “New World Order.” The shift is striking, not least because only months ago you identified China as Canada’s greatest strategic threat. Today, before senior figures of the Chinese Communist Party, you promote cooperation with the same regime — one tied to mass surveillance, social credit systems, the suppression of dissent, and documented human rights abuses.

Parliamentary inquiries have repeatedly warned that the CCP interferes on Canadian soil. Journalists in China require burner phones to avoid surveillance, while our government speaks of shared security interests?

Canada must not drift into a China-centric order without democratic consent. We call on you to explain the rationale for this foreign-policy pivot, to reaffirm Canada’s commitment to sovereignty and democratic freedoms, and to ensure that Canadians — not foreign powers — decide the terms of our future.
