Daytime talk show bullies attack a private citizen for being a good wife and mother

I came across this video on Twitter. It’s a clip from The Today Show — in Australia. I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise of course. It’s been watched millions of times online. They're speaking in Australian accents, but the show, its format and their audience are pretty much the same as the daytime shows we have here.

Whenever you read a story that says, “the Internet says” or “people online are mad about this”— you know it's not going to be real news or real journalism. That's just code for “I want to say this, but I don’t quite have the courage to say it myself”.

On tonight's show I'll go through the clip where they pluck a private citizen for national ridicule and break down why this daytime panel is so upset.

NEXT: Robbie Picard, the founder of Oilsands Strong, joins me to talk about the anti-pipeline protests and blockades sweeping the country.

FINALLY: Your letters to me!
