Alberta rolls back fuel tax until December 31: Kris Sims joins The Gunn Show

Albertans are getting a break at the pump, but it has an expiry date. Premier Danielle Smith’s government has rolled back the provincial fuel tax by 13 cents a litre until December 31, 2026.
Canadian Taxpayers Federation Alberta director Kris Sims says that works out to about $10 saved when filling a minivan, $15 for a pickup truck and $130 for a big rig. Those savings matter to families, farmers, truckers and businesses that cannot simply stop driving when costs climb.
Kris joins me on The Gunn Show to discuss the tax rollback and the Albertans who pushed for relief. We’ll look at what the cut means for household budgets and the cost of moving goods across the province.
And then there’s the date on the calendar: what happens when December 31 arrives? Kris and I talk about whether this relief should last beyond the end of the year, and what taxpayers can do to make sure the government hears them.
