Toronto church replaces 600 Israeli flags incinerated by vandals with 1200 more

Pastor John Ward of the Word of Faith International Christian Centre speaks on why he is displaying the flags and why he refuses to be intimidated into doing otherwise by unhinged haters.

In the wee morning hours of Oct. 7, a hooligan decided to set ablaze some 600 Israeli flags that had been planted on the front lawn of the Word of Faith International Christian Centre in the east end of Toronto.

It was gross. And completely disrespectful given what happened in Israel three years ago — namely, the largest one-day slaughter of Jews post-Holocaust.

But given the fallout, we’re reminded of that creature from Greek mythology called the Hydra. The Hydra was a serpentine being that was virtually unstoppable; if you were to cut off one of its heads, two more would take its place.

And that’s the case today at Word of Faith: 1,200 flags of Israel have replaced the 600 that were torched just a few days ago.

Alas, if the cowardly firebug was hoping to intimidate this church, the precise opposite has proven to be true.

Indeed, this church is not backing down in its support of the State of Israel. Rather, it is doubling down by displaying twice as many flags as it had on display just a few days ago.

Check out our interview with the church’s pastor, John Ward, on why he is displaying the flags and why he refuses to be intimidated into doing otherwise by unhinged haters.

PETITION: Deport Hamas!

67,329 signatures
Goal: 85,000 signatures

It is against the law to provide support for Hamas, which has been designated by the government as an illegal terrorist entity. Please sign our petition demanding that the government deport non-citizens, including foreigners on student visas, who are abusing the privilege of being our guests by supporting Hamas hate rallies.

Will you sign?
