TPUSA’s Will Witt visits Canada with a message for conservatives
Turning Point USA contributor Will Witt travelled to Calgary for the We Unify conference, where he spoke about faith, culture and why conservatives shouldn’t compromise their values.
Conservatives gathered in Calgary this weekend for the We Unify conference, bringing together speakers from across Canada and the United States to tackle some of the biggest political and cultural issues facing the country.
From free speech to Alberta sovereignty, faith and the future of Canada, speakers focused on the direction the country is heading and what organizers describe as reclaiming truth, culture and individual sovereignty.
Among those taking the stage was American conservative commentator, author and Turning Point USA contributor Will Witt.
Witt travelled north of the border, bringing his perspective on many of the political and cultural debates taking place in both Canada and the U.S.
Witt has a long history with Turning Point USA. He was one of the organization’s early campus coordinators before gaining a large online following through political commentary and man-on-the-street interviews. He has also authored two books and built a following discussing politics, culture and faith.
During his remarks in Calgary, Witt focused in part on the idea of unity and whether conservatives should pursue it at the expense of their principles.
While calls for political unity have become common amid growing divisions in both countries, Witt argued that there are some things people should not compromise on simply for the sake of getting along.
Rather than seeking unity with what he described as evil, Witt argued that evil needs to be conquered.
Following his remarks, I caught up with Witt to discuss that message and more.
